Today, our exploration Investment, Lycaon Resources (ASX: LYN) announced it has started a downhole EM surveys, following up on its early success at its Bow River project in the Kimberly, WA.

We want to see some large conductors light up at depth here, with the downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys investigating the two previous diamond drillholes to a depth of 800m.

We’d been eagerly awaiting the start of this EM survey after LYN hit upon a sulphide zone ranging from ~13m - 45m in thickness.

With assays pending, LYN will correlate the assay data with the EM survey to see if there could be more mineralisation to be found at depth.

Below is what running downhol EM surveys looks like on site:

Now, IF LYN’s assays come in positive from these first two drillholes, the EM surveys produce large conductors and LYN then has good targets to work with for further drill testing, then we think LYN would be well on its way to proving out the mineralisation in potentially 1km or more of strike.

That length of strike with sufficiently economic grades could be a great starting point for LYN, we just need to see the assays.

At Bow River we want to see LYN make a discovery that resembles Panoramic Resources’ Savannah North discovery.

Here is a quick side by side of the assay results that lead to that discovery and LYN’s drill program:
